Ian has over 25 years’ customer-facing consulting experience on large-scale, complex projects covering Factories of the Future, ERP implementations, transformation, PoC’s and crit-sits.

He is currently working on the UK 5G Manufacturing Testbed and is part of the technical design authority for this. Prior, he spent five years leading a large, high-profile proof of concept to create the factory of the future using industry 4.0 principles.

This project was referenced in the UK. He works closely with UK High Value Catapult Centres such as the Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre (AMRC) and Manufacturing Technology Centre (MTC). He is Chair of the Sheffield University Industrial Advisory Board and a member of the IBM Academy of Technology, a select group of global thought leaders.

In 2018 he was a finalist in the Times Management Consultancy Association (MCA) awards. He is a Fellow of the British Computer Society, a Distinguished Technical Specialist, Certified Technical Specialist, Expert Solutions Specialist and IBM Academic Ambassador.
